RE: Vox 0.3 beta 1
Very nice. Many thanks!

Noticed a small bug: the "show playlist menu on main window" option doesn't stick properly. When I uncheckd it, the playlist selector disappears. But if I quit & reload, the playlist selector has come back, although the option in the preferences is still unchecked.

I like the new look!

RE: Vox 0.3 beta 1
Thank you so much for the update, alenofx! It was killing me when I switched to Lion and couldn't play any .flac files ... I nearly downgraded back to SL!

I was wondering if there's gonna be a way to switch back to the old theme? The new one looks sleek and modern, but it feels a bit bulky for my tastes. Could you somehow put a feature in the settings that lets users pick the old style?

Also, what happened to the effects window? Don't tell me it's gone completely - that was one of my favorite aspects of Vox!

RE: Vox 0.3 beta 1
nice job!, like the smaller and new look

little quotes:

1. when i press 'CUSTOM' in the player (RIGHT CORNER) .... the album that i was playing, start all over again ((it's that normal ?)) p.s: what is CUSTOM anyway ?, because it's in BETA ?

2. would not be better when .... we hit the playlist on the player, the playlist keep stuck to the player(like on previews releases), insted of separate..

Brilliant, love the new look & really happy Vox is now Lion friendly. I've been on Lion through all the dev previews & have missed Vox so much. You are all brilliant & your hard work is very much appreciated.

RE: Vox 0.3 beta 1
All FX but onboard EQ relying on AU plugins with ability to save FX setup on quit! Yes! I'm back to Vox! Technically, I think it's pretty close to perfection now. Many thanks for your great work Alessio! Although I like the new sleeker look, I really miss the old windows color and transparency settings... Pleeeease bring them back! I also noticed the bug mentioned above by ripap.

@pelaoviel:

1. this little menu will list your custom created and saved playlists (located in Home/Library/Application Support/Vox). If you don't plan to save any playlist and/or this menu is no use for you, just toggle it away in Vox prefs > interface > Show playlist menu on main window.

2. Quote from first post above: To open the playlist popup (like Vox 0.2) just right click on the playlist button.

A great light-weight player! Many thanks. Are there any future plans for search capability and library management in the future? It'd be great if the iTunes library could be accessed or imported.

RE: Vox 0.3 beta 1
A few thoughts:
1) When a file is untagged it is added to the playlist but is invisible. The option to see the file name when no tag is present would help limit confusion (especially when there are multiple untagged files in a playlist).

2) I'd really like to be able to shrink the width of the playlist window to that of the player, but that is currently not possible due to the amount of metadata being shown in the playlist. Any possibility of toggling metadata columns on/off in the playlist?

I agree (generally) with nictothelas that I'd like to have the option for the old UI, or at least the option to dial back some of the changes made in the new/experimental UI. Perhaps something like the (very quick and dirty) mockup below might be a reasonable middle ground?

RE: Vox 0.3 beta 1
Thanks for new version on Lion. Please comeback to opacity and convert to acc not choice bitrate, only automatic. Automatic not good, because bitrate is low, very low.

RE: Vox 0.3 beta 1
Great work, thank you!!

One suggestion: Please consider adding "right click (on finder file) / add song to Vox playlist" function. This is what I miss from winamp. It is highly useful :)

I know that you can hold option while dragging the file to Vox, but if your in separate desktops its an extra step versus right click/add to playlist

I too am disappointed to see that 0.3 beta is not a universal app and wouldn't work on my G4 - I suppose that's progress for you.

That's exactly what I wanted to say.

- I would also add numeration before artist name, just like it is when you right click the playlist

- Also, when clearing playlist, Vox stops playing current track. That eliminates an option to change playlists 'on the go', with music constantly playing in the background. Vox could leave the current song playing till the end, and then play next from new playlist. It would be really handy!

RE: Vox 0.3 beta 1
Ticking the "custom" arrow on the top right of the player caused vox to crash out under Lion. Other than that all seems fine so far.

RE: Vox 0.3 beta 1
thank god for a lion friendly vox...been missing using it at home.

loved the new ui, but i would go other way. for me, vox is the kind of app that would look swell in a more retro interface...i think it would go well with the hi-fi philosophy of the app.

RE: Vox 0.3 beta 1
Hi, I'm very happy about the new Vox.

A question: it's possible to have a simpler "time stretch" feature, so when you change the tempo, the pitch also change? (no interpolation, just a simple speed changer without pitch adjustement).

Anyway, thank you for the development.
