TFMX file support request
Hi there,

I would be a very happy camper, if VOX could support the TFMX (The Final Musicsystem eXtended) format in a future update. TFMX was a format used on the Amiga computers (similar to MOD) and have been used in Games like Turrican, Transplant, Monkey Island, R-Type and others.

A TFMX file consists of a MDAT and SMPL file of which the first one is a pattern file and the second one contains the samples.

The reason why I’m requesting this is a simple and sad one. The only software which was able to play those files on the Mac was CocoModX which is no longer supported an only available as a PPC binary. Therefore it doesn’t work in Lion or Mountain Lion.

As VOX already supports MOD and other oldstyle tracker formats, it would be great if this support would be completed by adding the TFMX format.

Best regards

RE: TFMX file support request
i'm with you there. i wish i could use 1 app to play all my music formats which could be done, according to alessio (vox's dev), by implementing open source plugins. remains to be seen.

meanwhile you can check xmp (command line) and see if you can play the tfmx format.

xmp (official page, source only)
xmp (mac binary built by the rudix project)
